EDINBURGH hold an imposing 59-31 advantage as they head to Workington tonight (Saturday) for the second leg of their KO Cup semi-final.
Erik Riss (15) and Richie Worrall (14+1) were both unbeaten for the Monarchs, whose lead at Armadale was eight points after eight races before they reeled off advantages in each of the remaining heats.
Jordan Stewart comes in as a guest at No.7 for the second leg, whilst Workington – who lost Rene Bach mid-meeting due to illness – bring in Jake Allen to guest for the injured Dan Bewley.
Monarchs boss Alex Harkess said: “I would not like to think we could lose the tie after a result like that.
“We got our last home match out of our system and rode as we would normally expect.”
