The Racers take to the track for the final time this season on Saturday when they visit Stoke to face the Carmarthen Dragons.
The rearranged match is likely to decide who will finish 4th in the Midland & Southern Development League table, and while both clubs have can point to individual successes regarding rider progress and development, they will also both be keen to finish as high up the table as possible.
Reading were hoping to finally track 4 of their squad members together but it was not to be with both Nick Laurence and Rhys Laker ruled out. The team management have once again left no stone unturned and managed to acquire the services of Corban Pavitt, a northern based rider who appeared in 2 races for the club at Plymouth in 2018 before the match was curtailed.
While they struggled to find a fourth rider able to commit, help came from an unexpected quarter when they were approached with an offer of Gregor Millar's services. The 15 year old from Glasgow has been making great strides this year since switching to a 500cc and was keen to try his hand in the M&SDL. This could well be a first for the Reading team in tracking two riders from north of the border as Kieran Douglas also lines up. William O'keefe completes the team and was a Stoke NL rider at the beginning of last year.
Carmarthen have also been forced into a change as they bring Stoke reserve Joe Alcock back into the team in place of the injured Danny Woodward. Luke Whitehead also comes into the side after missing the corresponding match at Swindon just over a week ago.
It looks a well matched contest, and as keen as both teams will be to take the win, neither will be taking anything for granted in what should be one of the better matches of the season.
